Tray and updates

Lunchpad runs its macros in the background. The window is only for editing: close it, and your pads keep working as long as Lunchpad sits in the tray.

The tray menu

The Lunchpad icon sits in the notification area of the taskbar. Click it to open the menu.
Entry What it does
Join the Discord! Opens the Lunchpad Discord in your browser.
Show Lunchpad Brings the window back.
Stay on top Keeps the window above other windows.
Minimize to tray Closing the window hides it instead of quitting.
Run at startup Starts Lunchpad when you log in.
Stop all running macros Stops every macro that is running.
Quit Ends Lunchpad. Macros stop and the Launchpad goes dark.

The checkmarks match the switches in Settings → Interface, where Minimize to tray is called Close to the tray and Run at startup is called Start Lunchpad with the system. Changing one changes the other.

Start with your computer

Section titled “Start with your computer”

For a Launchpad that is always ready:

  1. Turn on Start Lunchpad with the system (or Run at startup in the tray).
  2. Turn on Close to the tray, so closing the window does not quit.
  3. Optionally turn on Start hidden in the tray in Settings → Interface, so Lunchpad starts without opening its window.

With Reconnect automatically on (the default), Lunchpad connects to your Launchpad as soon as it starts, or when you plug it in later.

Updates

Installed copies of Lunchpad look for a new release on GitHub a few seconds after they start. When there is one, a notice Update available appears with Install and restart and Later.

  • Install and restart downloads the new version, installs it and restarts Lunchpad.
  • Later hides the notice. You can install from Settings → About Lunchpad any time.

Check for updates in Settings → About Lunchpad looks for a new version right now and tells you if you already have the latest.
